BiltWise Structures is excited to grow our team. We build houses indoors, taking stress off of both workers and materials in our state of the art facility. We are building a robust team with an incredible culture. We are looking for someone to join our Quality team. For this position, you must be able to read a tape measure and have at least some carpentry/home building experience. We are comfortable training someone who may be green, but would appreciate a candidate with at least basic foundations. Above all, we are looking for someone reliable and hardworking. You will work on a variety of Quality projects, including walkthroughs, root cause analysis, traveler maintenance and documentation, and interpreting blueprints for accurate construction. Our ideal candidate has an aptitude for precision and can handle a variety of tasks. We are willing to train the right person; all we ask is that you are reliable and dedicated. Title: Quality Inspector Reports To: Director, Quality Purpose: Ensure the quality of building processes and products to meet regulatory requirements, maintain compliance, and align with agreed upon company standards for quality. Responsible for inspecting and monitoring various components and finishes to ensure accuracy and adherence to standard operating procedures. Business Outcomes: Maintain compliance with building regulations and codes in all constructed houses. Identify and rectify nonconformances to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. Essential Functions: Compliance Management:Monitor and maintain compliance with building processes, codes, and regulations relevant to the local jurisdictions the houses will be sent to. Quality Assurance:Inspect and assess the construction processes to ensure alignment with BiltWise standard operating procedures. Verify correct measurements and accuracy in various components and finishes. Nonconformance Resolution:Update travelers for found nonconformances and coordinate with leads, supervisors, and trades to rectify various nonconformances. Troubleshooting and Communication:Utilize troubleshooting skills to identify quality and code concerns specific to BiltWise processes. Maintain effective communication with leads, supervisors, and trades to facilitate rectification. Physical Inspection:Perform physical inspections, including working at various heights and in tight spaces, to ensure the quality of construction. Documentation:Maintain accurate documentation of inspection findings and nonconformance rectification. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to analyze deviations for root cause Ability to tactfully give feedback and recommendation to production team on quality deviations and remediation Working independently with limited supervision Solid understanding of code/home inspection process Eye for accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Comfort with heights and working in tight spaces. Strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Physical stamina for extended periods of standing and physical work. Ability to read a tape measure and other measurement devices. Ability to read blueprints. Day to Day Activities: Conduct inspections throughout the construction process, including in-process and final inspections, to ensure compliance with design, code, and customer specifications in accordance with documented quality inspection processes. Maintaining up to date documentation and job files on all units as they go through the production process D cument all inspection results, non-conformances, deviations, and corrective actions on the quality traveler and other required quality documents, in a clear and concise manner, in accordance with documented quality recording processes. Implement remedial actions for identified deviations. Daily monitor the completion of quality travelers and report to the quality manager. Order, produce, and install all necessary labels and documentation in completed modules per the documented quality processes. Work collaboratively with production teams to identify and address quality issues, and provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with quality standards Oversee and document all necessary MEP tests as required by the quality manual. Work with the Director, Quality to perform root cause analysis of deviations using necessary quality tools, and provide corrective actions. Update quality processes as needed when corrective actions have been identified. Assist Director, Quality in the completion of other quality tasks as needs arise. These tasks will be specific, with a deadline and will be conveyed with clear expectations. Long term Quality Inspector Goals: Compile deviation data for reporting Monthly or quarterly trend analysis of deviations (TBD on timing.) Obtain inspection certifications Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in construction, quality control, or related fields is preferred.
