SUMMARY

Firefly Aerospace is looking for a talented and highly motivated Electrical Component Production Manager to join our rapidly growing team You will help lead the charge to scale up our in-house production capabilities to align with the launch schedule and exciting product roadmap. This is a great opportunity to shape the team and production processes that will guide the future of avionics production at Firefly Aerospace.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build up and manage the electronics manufacturing team of assemblers and technicians to align with program demand requirements
  • Provide mentorship to the team to facilitate career development, workplace satisfaction, and team cohesiveness
  • Creatively utilize resources to manage fully saturated production demand schedules
  • Efficiently balance production requirements with labor and equipment capacity
  • Work closely with the design team to manufacture hardware that meets the design requirements; Provide DFM feedback as applicable
  • Work between the technician and manufacturing engineering team to resolve non-conformances found in the production process and manage the disposition appropriately
  • Identify high-level, company-wide processes that can be improved and work with cross-functional teams to drive incremental improvements
  • Work closely with production planning to advise on direct labor capacity to serve as an input to master scheduling
  • Work directly with the recruiting team to interview, hire, and onboard technicians to align with the annual operating plan
  • Deliver completed Avionics hardware to vehicle integration with full confidence in the as-built reliability of the hardware

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Operations, or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience in an electro-mechanical (or equivalent) production environment
  • Direct people management experience
  • High level understanding of ERP functionality with very strong spreadsheet skills, both of which will be required on our journey towards full scale, standardized production
  • Strong bias for action and demonstrated track record as a change agent
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal & written communication
  • Relentless focus on continuous improvement and the requisite emotional intelligence to manage the human component of sustained improvement
  • Ability to work in fast-paced/cross-functional environment

Desired

  • Experience implementing a production metrics and/or continuous improvement system
  • Experience with NPI and Project Management
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, and proactively managing employee retention
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP/CLTD or equivalent
  • Advanced degree in a management, operations, or related field
  • Background in Space or Aerospace manufacturing
