KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The success of this role will be measured by the performance of the processes under the Manufacturing Engineer's oversight concerning safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC). Essential attributes for candidates include a collaborative approach with area leadership, an unwavering commitment to improvement, and strong problem-solving skills.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Implementing systematic enhancements to process stability and performance through thorough problem scoping, root cause analysis, experimentation, and the execution and validation of solutions. This will result in updated process sequences, tooling, equipment adjustments, work instructions, and various documentation.
- Utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to minimize waste and enhance value flow.
- Applying fundamental process science and statistical methods to decrease process variability.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of established processes, including SOPs, work instructions, Job Safety Analysis, PFMEA, control plans, and First Article inspection sheets.
- Providing secondary support to resolve technical issues that production staff cannot address.
- Evaluating innovative manufacturing technologies and excelling in project management to implement these advancements.
Timely and effective integration of new products into manufacturing is crucial. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with product engineering to assess designs for manufacturability and suggesting feasible design modifications.
- Creating processes (sequences, methods, tooling, parameters, instructions, etc.) for new product launches.
- Ensuring timely execution of new process qualification plans.
- Offering technical guidance during changes in Bill of Materials and other factors affecting product form, fit, and function.
Lead continuous improvement projects aligned with Cedar Park's strategic goals from inception to completion. Responsibilities include:
- Providing informal leadership and mentorship to team members to promote best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven competence in enhancing and implementing automation in Electrical and Mechanical systems, including process mapping and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability in systematic problem-solving.
- Degree or diploma in Mechatronics Engineering is advantageous; a Master's degree is a plus.
- 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Familiarity with Materials Science, GD&T, Engineering Drawings, wiring diagrams, and PLC.
- Experience troubleshooting Mechanical and Electrical equipment.
- 2 or more years of hands-on experience with production equipment and maintenance.
- 1 or more years of independent project management experience.
- Experience in designing and applying precision production tooling.
- Proficient in developing and maintaining production routers and work instructions.
- Skilled in managing projects and problem-solving.
- Proficient in solid modeling, Team Center, and JD Edwards.
- Experience with high-level programming languages such as Python or Microsoft .NET.
Compliance with safety regulations at NOV facilities is mandatory, including participation in safety training and wearing appropriate safety gear as needed.
