Merchology seeks a Seasonal Quoting Specialist to join our Merchandising Department, starting in September, and working through December 2024. Reporting to the Director of Supplier Relationships, the Merchandising Pricing Specialist is a critical role that provides strategic pricing strategy to our general product offerings and specializes in supplying quotes for large customer requests in unique situations. This role partners closely with our Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service teams.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

A successful Quoting Specialist will:

  • Facilitate comprehensive quotes for customers encompassing product pricing, shipping expenses, and decoration costs for larger orders
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance Team to establish standard margin expectations and ensuring compliance by adjusting them as necessary to align with the evolving business requirements
  • Take ownership of the competitive pricing review process, which involves conducting regular evaluations of our top selling products and brands to identify potential quote losses and assess our market presence.
  • Execute up to two major pricing analysis projects annually and make recommendations on how the Company should adjust pricing when needed
  • Ensure the accuracy and relevance of pricing on the Company website by regularly updating it with supplier price changes and making necessary adjustments in line with our overall pricing strategy
  • Maintain accurate information received from suppliers to help educate the rest of our team, including shipping programs offered by suppliers, pricing discounts offered by suppliers, etc.
Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree (marketing, communications, apparel, fashion merchandising preferred); experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Two to three years of experience having the responsibility of managing administrative tasks related to eCommerce, branding, and merchandising
  • One year of experience generating price quotes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn and navigate multiple digital platforms; knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Shopify, and Hubspot a plus
  • Creativity, confidence, and ability to work independently while building relationships through highly cross-functional projects and interactions
