Position Summary A data-informed approach to our work in The Salvation Army in San Diego will increase program effectiveness, assist in informed fiscal decisions, and monitor/inform our development as we seek to be inclusive to all members of our community. The function of this position is to collect and analyze relevant data throughout the county, working in conjunction with corps officers and other program leaders, and report to the San Diego Regional Office (SDRO) of the Southern California Divisional Headquarters who will disseminate information appropriately so that said objectives may be achieved in San Diego County. Essential Functions Work with program leaders and corps officers to maintain accurate statistics. Train corps officers/program leaders in recording statistics. Travel to Salvation Army locations throughout the county to train and assist leaders/corps officers. Utilize Salvation Army and external data systems such as Well Sky, CMS & HMIS to analyze and assess the strength of outreach and integration. Management and development of comprehensive analytics reports on program performance. Work with consultant/agency partner to analyze demographics and trends in the communities we serve. Work with corps officers, program leaders and SDRO leadership to adapt programs and services to trends and other findings. Interpret data with SDRO leadership and corps officers with the objective of informing fundraising needs and spending practices. Provide regular report to the Impact Committee of the SD Metro Advisory Board. Supply needed statistical and demographic data to grant writer. Assist grant writer, as needed, in forming proposals. Working Conditions Ability to walk, stand, bend squat climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) 3+ years combined experience in the for-and non-profit sectors. Must have a valid California Driver’s License. Before hire submit a copy of DMV Driving Record with less than two (2) violations (moving or accident) in last twelve months or a DUI within the last 18 months, to be eligible for this position. Certification by and participation in The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program on an annual basis. May not obtain more than two (2) violations (moving or accidents) in one year. Salvation Army Fleet Safety Policy dictates that persons no longer meeting the qualifications of this position, if more than two (2) violations in a 12-month period accrue to their DMV Driving Record, will be required to go to Traffic School at own expense or could be terminated. Before hire must pass three (3) hour Fleet Safety Test of The Salvation Army. Must score a passing grade to be hired for this position. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Proficiency in MS-DOS, MS Windows, MS Office applications (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint). Demonstrated ability to convey complex and complicated ideas in a clear, concise way. Ability to analyze, evaluate, and grasp high level concepts. Attention to detail. Ability to work in a team environment yet be self-directed.
