Data Specialist

As the Enterprise Data Flow Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization has a comprehensive understanding of how data flows across its systems and processes. This individual will analyze, document, and present the movement, transformation, and storage of data to both technical and executive audiences. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to ensure the accurate and efficient representation of data flows, while identifying opportunities for optimization.

Your impact:
- Data Flow Analysis and Documentation:
- Analyze and map data flows across the organization, documenting the source, transformation, and destination of data.
- Create detailed and visually compelling diagrams, schemas, and documentation suitable for technical and executive audiences.
- Technical Understanding and Application:
- Deeply understand the organization's data architecture, including Snowflake, SQL Server, and other data storage technologies.
- Review and analyze database schemas, T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, and queries to trace and validate data movements.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with data engineering and product teams to gather requirements and validate data flow documentation.
- Present findings, documentation, and recommendations to technical teams and executive leadership in clear and concise formats.
- ETL and Transformation Oversight:
- Provide insights into the organization's ETL processes, leveraging tools like Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, and DBT.
- Identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks in current data flow processes and recommend solutions.
Your Profile:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, such as Data Analyst, Data Architect, or Data Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated ability to work on complex, enterprise-scale data environments.
- Proficient in Snowflake, SQL Server, database schemas, T-SQL, and stored procedures.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, or DBT is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and database architecture principles.
