PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative:

Document and enforce server, storage, and virtual environment configurations and hardening standards.

Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures and technical references for all solutions and tools within area of responsibility.

Evaluate the existing server environment and make recommendations that improve performance, increase operational efficiency, and enhance security.

Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for the network team and either resolve or redirect issues to the appropriate IT personnel as needed.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills through yearly training and skills maintenance.

Technical:

Perform all tasks necessary to ensure assigned projects are implemented in accordance with generally accepted best practices and security standards.

Deploy, configure, and maintain servers, storage arrays, and virtual hosts including underlying hardware and related infrastructure services.

Perform configuration and maintenance of Active Directory domain services, certificate services, windows server applications, and related cloud-based software applications and services.

Document, implement, and test server, storage, and virtual environment disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.

Serve as a tier II escalation point for questions, concerns, or troubleshooting related to windows servers and applications.

Information Security:

Secure server, storage, and virtual environments by establishing and enforcing policies, controls, and compliance in accordance with Credit Union requirements and best practices.

Review audit and penetration test results and perform corrective actions to ensure all vulnerabilities within area of responsibility are addressed.

Perform regular reviews of server related infrastructure in order to detect and eliminate insecure or obsolete configurations.

Personal:

Follow all Credit Union policies, procedures and regulations.

Represent the Credit Union in a professional manner (including but not limited to appearance, behavior and performance).

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Work cooperatively with others.

All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience – Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university or related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five or more years of experience in Information Technology preferred. Server or virtualization certifications preferred.

Qualifications and Requirements – Individual must possess the knowledge skills and ability required to execute the essential functions in a satisfactory manner.

Language – Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, and procedure manuals and use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.

Mathematical – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

Reasoning – Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.

Computer – Knowledge of IT networks. Ability to operate related computer applications including Word, Excel and email. Proficient typing skills. Ability to operate other business equipment including adding machine, coin, and money counting machines and telephone.

Certificates and Licenses – At least two professional certifications in server or virtualization technologies preferred. Valid driver’s license.
