New London, United States Cardis Furniture & Mattresses Full time

We're looking for an experienced and collaborative SR. Construction Superintendent who thrives when people are in sync and projects are running on time but understands that Customer Satisfaction trumps everything. We are care less about what you have built in the past and more about how you fit within our team and culture and how well you can learn and execute on our Project Management priorities.

At KPS Global, our PMs and Construction Services Team works very close with our clients to deliver individual projects and entire programs to achieve our clients’ goals. Our customers select KPS for “peace of mind” and our team works hard every day to deliver hassle free, on time, high quality installations. Projects range from super simple two-day installations to uber-complex six and nine-month installations. If you’re interested in a challenging and rewarding career, supportive team-culture and as much independence as you can handle, KPS Construction Services might be a good fit.

In addition to Quality, Budgets and Schedules, we prioritize:

Relationships : we build relationships. Relationships with the customers, subcontractors, GCs and our own internal project teams are all important and must be taken care of and tended to daily.
Communication : no surprises, timely updates, expectations
Documentation : issues, observations, change requests, change orders, meetings

This role is a key part of the Project Management Team, supported by a Project Manager, sometimes a Project Coordinator, and you will report into Senior Project Management or the Chief Superintendent. The KPS Superintendent will commonly be customer facing and spend most of their time training and supporting our subcontract installers. Other key interactions include coordinating with GC’s, suppliers, and internal customer teams covering a range of functional areas to deliver on customer expectations.

Once the project has been designed, approved, and fabricated, you will partner with the Project Manager to take over and own it from delivery to installation and customer acceptance. Your primary role on the jobsite is to ensure our installation subcontractors are meeting KPS and Customer expectations. Safety is always number one. After safety we measure our subcontractors on schedule performance, quality of work, problem solving, communication, agility, jobsite organization and cleanliness.

You will spend ample time being trained on our products and systems until you are ready to own jobsites on your own. You will have significant responsibility managing multiple projects at once and over time you will earn a tremendous amount of autonomy and oversight to resolve complex issues. Your excellent communication skills will be essential as you’ll be client-facing, representing KPS Global on the jobsite.

As the KPS Superintendent, you’ll be responsible for ensuring not only the progress and technical performance of a project, but also the materials management, budget, schedule, cost, scope development and changes, subcontractor contracts and documents, and safety of the team. You’ll assist the KPS PM to manage the review and approval process for contractor invoices and contractor pay applications and changes orders and coordinate with the Project Coordinator and Finance group for proper posting in the reporting program.

You’ll provide effective, skilled project oversight to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques.
