Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled WIC Nutritionist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a WIC Nutritionist, you will play a critical role in providing direct nutrition services to our patients, including nutrition assessment, education, and referrals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive WIC nutrition assessments to determine nutritional risk and develop personalized care plans.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to WIC participants, including breastfeeding support and referrals to community resources.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement nutrition and breastfeeding promotion and support programs to meet local agency goals and objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest nutrition research and best practices to inform program development and implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, community nutrition, nutrition education, or nutritional sciences from an accredited institution.
- At least one year of experience in public or community health, preferably in nutrition.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
