Human Resources Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist supports essential HR functions as directed by the Human Resources Manager, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and effective interpersonal skills.
General HR Functions:
- Assist in implementing company policies and procedures as needed.
- Communicate and provide training or guidance on HR-related procedures.
- Manage recruitment, selection, and placement for assigned job openings.
- Conduct new employee orientations, safety training, and other assigned training sessions.
- Maintain accurate HR records including personnel files, attendance, accident reports, insurance documentation, training records, and company announcements.
- Complete weekly time sheets, verify weekly temporary billing statements, and maintain a log for management reporting.
- Assist the HR Manager in administering compensation and benefits.
- Coordinate employee engagement activities such as quarterly appreciation events.
- Respond to employee inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist in disciplinary actions and employee separations when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support the HR Manager with various projects.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Adhere to and promote quality standards and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: Associate degree or 1-3 years of relevant HR experience required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in computer skills and Windows applications related to this role.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of employment laws and HR practices.
- Communication: Ability to follow and provide clear written and verbal instructions.
- Attention to Detail: Highly detail-oriented, consistent, and thorough.
- Attendance: Must have a reliable attendance record.
Equipment and Physical Requirements:
- Equipment Used: Computer, fax machine, calculator, telephone, copier, and other standard office equipment.
- Physical Demands: Frequent use of hands; occasional lifting, bending, and stooping; minimal exposure to noise and fumes.
