Description

MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland, ME is recruiting for a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife. This position is responsible for performing nurse midwifery duties and serves as an OB/GYN team member working closely with physicians and other staff to ensure the health of patients.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

BSN/MSN and successful completion ofnursemidwifery program accredited by the ACME; active State of Maine Nursing License for RN andAPRN- CNM.;certification byAMCB; active DEA License; current BLS certification.

Minimum 3 years of professional Nurse Midwifery experience.

Knowledge of nurse midwifery principles and techniques; knowledge of methods ensuringsafeworking environment forpatient, family andstaffincluding using appropriate personal protection equipment.

Skillin midwifery practiceincludingappropriate prenatal education and support, coaching during pregnancy and delivery, as well as postpartum care.

Use of critical thinking to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose an appropriate course of action; comfortableinfast paced,academic hospitalbased model of obstetrical care

Understanding of health care technology, equipment and supplies.

Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation requirements and federal/state laws related toreleaseof health care information; ability to use Electronic HealthRecord; skillin time management,problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination;abilityto establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, staff;adaptable tomeetingthe needs of the obstetric patients of the Family Birth Center
