Description OVERVIEW: The Social Services Assistant will help with the operations of the social services department. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Greeting & assisting clients visiting the Corps Direct volunteers Compile the monthly/quarterly statistics and submit them as approved Maintain all upkeep of equipment used for programs/coordinate repairs Organize catering and refreshment needs for meetings Provide clerical assistance to the Corps Officers and other staff Assist with Corps projects Pick up donations Coordinate the food pantry distribution Coordinate the Diaper program distribution Collect all data for statistics, food distribution, donations, and hot meals Submit data to Second Harvest of partnership donor participants Asist the unhouse clients with their mail Warm up food to be served in the afternoon Other related duties as required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent (required) CA Driver's license (required) Experience in data entry (preferred) ServSafe food handling certificate (within first fourteen days of employment – company provided) SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Bilingual in Spanish (preferred) Knowledge of Microsoft Programs Ability to work with diverse populations Team player EQUIPMENT USED: Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
