Central Sterile Specialist

This position does not require certification.

The Central Sterile Tech processes, sterilizes, and maintains reusable instruments. Follows recommended and mandated procedures to ensure the safety and sterility of reusable instruments. You must be able to work independently and adhere to specific guidelines and procedures. Position will support the Endoscopy Suite at 87th Ave. Hiring range is between $18.15-$23.75/hour, and placement in the range is based on an evaluation of experience. Schedule is four, 10-hour days Monday through Friday.

Instrument Care

  • Cleans and sterilizes surgical instruments according to Clinic procedure.
  • Maintains equipment in good working order.
  • Monitors instruments for quality and seeks repair or replacement.
  • Maintains current knowledge of disinfection/sterilization technique through continuing education and professional equipment.
  • Performs quality control procedures on a routine basis and documents according to established procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Detailed and procedure oriented required
  • Certificate of completion from a formal central sterile processing technology course, preferred
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center or central sterile services, preferred
  • National certification, preferred


Pay Range:
$17.80 - $24.91

We also offer a 401k retirement plan, with employer contributions after your first year of employment. Benefits-eligible employees accrue PTO and Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked, totaling 120 hours in the first year for full time staff and 200 hours in the first year for full time supervisors and above, increasing in subsequent years. PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
