Zero Gravity plans and manages basketball tournaments, leagues, prep school showcases, and camps for children and young adults. Participants span from beginner level 2nd graders through Top-100, Nationally Ranked HS prospects. ZG has many established partnerships including Adidas, Jr. NBA, Spalding, Yeti, and Gatorade. Zero Gravity Basketball is a part of 3Step Sports LLC, the nation's largest and most impactful youth sports club and event operator. With more than 2,500 events and 1.1+ million participants in nine sports each year, 3STEP has an indelible impact on athletes and families in all 50 states. 3STEP basketball is made up of the most influential people & brands in grassroots basketball including The Hoop Group, Select Events, ESPN Recruiting & the National Prep Championship series. Job Description: The Zero Gravity Associate Director Co-Op is a 4 month (September - November) paid position based out of 3STEP Corporate HQ in Woburn, MA. Associate Directors will work under the guidance of ZG Regional Directors & Leadership to plan and implement events and tournaments on a weekly basis. This annual program has been the kickstart to many careers across not only grassroots sports but also collegiate and professional organizations. The goal of our Associate Director Program is to provide a fully immersive experience in all aspects of sports business and create a path towards a successful career in the industry. Top performing associates have gone on to full-time positions with organizations such as the NFL, NBA, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards as well as collegiate basketball programs such as Arizona State, Texas, Marquette, UMass and VCU. In addition, many have been stayed on in full-time positions with both Zero Gravity Basketball & other brands/departments within 3STEP Sports like West Coast Elite, Select Events, & 3STEP Marketing.
Duties Include:
- Drive revenue growth through building/maintaining strong customer relationships
- Registering and collecting payments from our vast customer base on a weekly basis
- Secure and confirm facilities for Zero Gravity events in your region
- Assist in hiring part-time event staff on a weekly basis and training them in various capacities (Ticket Sales, Scorekeeping, Site Directing, etc.)
- Communicate with programs on a weekly basis to provide a successful event experience
- Assisting with venue/facility setup and breakdown each week
- Acting as on-site lead at Zero Gravity events and tournaments throughout our Fall Season
Desired Characteristics:
- Major in Sport Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Aspirations to be a leader in sports industry
- Desire and ability to work in an extremely demanding, fast-paced environment
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Prior event management experience is a plus
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work extended hours
- Willing to travel frequently to various locations on the East Coast
