Student Services Systems Manager

The Student Services Systems Coordinator (SSS Coordinator) serves as technical expert to all Student Services Departments. The individual in this role will serve as the primary individual who implements and supports Student Services technology platforms and serves as a liaison between the Student Services team and the IT team, clarifying business process requirements and performing functional quality assurance testing before implementation in production. The Coordinator will also be responsible for guiding Student Service departments in producing queries and reports from the Student Services platforms.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • To understand and commit to the Mission of the College ~ Dodge City Community College provides a student-centered learning environment where students can achieve their educational, personal, and career goals.
  • Provides functional and technical support to Student Service Departments regarding the College’s Jenzabar One system and all other Student Services technology platforms.
  • Assists Departments develop both simple and complex queries and reports within Jenzabar One and other Student Service platforms to facilitate data needs for staff.
  • Responsible to work with users to determine their needs and to develop reports and queries.
  • Employs independent judgment and discretion regarding system troubleshooting and emergent issues.
  • Researches and analyzes complex system issues and provides recommended solutions in a timely fashion. Solutions to be recommended may range from a change in a process step to revamping an entire process.
  • Assists Student Service Departments to conducts periodic audits of information flowing into and out of Student Jenzabar One modules and other technology platforms to ensure data integrity and optimum system performance.
  • Serves as a trainer for all of Student Services for Jenzabar One and other technology platforms as applicable.
  • Provides first level production support and assists end users in problem resolution.
  • Collaborates with the IT Department team to review and approve Jenzabar One application modifications, patches and upgrades.
  • Provides ad hoc reporting in response to management.
  • Maintains Jenzabar One Systems professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Services

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree, certificate or equivalent related experience
  • Experience working with Jenzabar One or equivalent applications
  • Experience using report writing software
  • Ability to create and work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Kansas Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Three (3) years of related experience working with Jenzabar One or equivalent applications.
  • Experience using workflow forms systems
  • Knowledge of and ability to work within systems of the U.S. Department of Education; including EDConnect, Common Origination & Disbursement System (COD), National Student Loan Data System (NSDLS), and other related applications and systems
  • Experience using report writing software.
  • Project Management skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervision may occasionally involve student assistants
Physical Requirements: - with or without assistance
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in written form and verbally
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time
  • Motor skills and dexterity to access campus locations
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 35lbs
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel as necessary to perform the responsibilities of this position
