Job Description

Education:

Bachelor's degree from four year college or university, plus two or more year's related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills:

Network architecture

Enterprise WAN/LAN

Networking technologies including:

Wireless

IDS

IPS

Traffic shaping

QoS

VPN

MPLS

Cisco IP telephony

Cisco wireless

Cisco architecture and able to provide configuration and support for a broad range of Cisco products including Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS and Cisco ASA-x devices

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day operations, management and administration of the college network/telephony infrastructure including installing, configuring and supporting SCC's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and telephony system.

Administer switches, routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, wireless controllers and access points, troubleshoot connectivity issues including physical issues and event log analysis.

Direct and coordinate the maintenance of campus telecommunications which includes troubleshooting problems with telephones and voicemail, recommending updates to services and equipment, verifying expenditures, coordinating moves, changes and additions for telephone services and the ordering of telephone equipment.

Create, maintain and document network baselines and policies.

Assist with implementation following the College's information security practices.

Assist in creating, maintaining and documenting security baselines and policies.

Assist and manage any network projects assigned by the Director of Network Computing.
