Process Engineer - Dayton, NJ (South Brunswick, NJ)

The Process Engineer will assist with plant operations according to business necessities and assigned process development work. The focus will be on increasing the quality, timeliness, and first-time right of product introductions. Process Engineers take a hands-on approach to their job, including operating process equipment and working closely with technicians and operations staff as required bringing assigned projects to completion. The ideal candidate must demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn and communicate with a variety of individuals at all technical levels.   • Designs and plans laboratory and pilot experiments in support of new product development and manufacturing improvement according to New Product Introduction (NPI). Plans experiments, gathers accurate data, performs analysis, summarizes findings, and writes reports. Uses scientific and engineering methodologies. Elaboration of technical batch reports including interpretation and conclusions. Communication of project result and share trials results.
  • Coordinates sample batch preparation for customers and internal use.
  • Leads scale-up and trial batches in manufacturing. Prepares temporary batch instructions and process change documents for non-standard processing. Participates in HAZOP's and safety reviews.
  • Creates and maintains SOP's as necessary.
  • Communicates clearly with R&D, Operations, and manufacturing personnel, as needed. May also work directly with suppliers and/or customers (both internal and external).
  • Reviews internal and external nonconformances. Collaborates directly with Quality team on root cause analysis and documents CAPA in our internal system for future review.
  • Participates on new Project investment in basic engineering specifications and supports start up procedure.
Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work well on teams and with minimal direction
  • The ability to occasionally lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) in a plant environment
Required Experience:
  • BS in chemical engineering or Equivalent academic and work experience with 2+ years' experience in a chemical, food, pharmaceutical, or related manufacturing or research environment
  • Experience in Basic Engineering activities for investment projects in chemical environment
