Administrative Assistant

Purpose:
The administrative assistant will provide a wide range of administrative support to the College of Agriculture. This is a full-time, fully benefit eligible position.
Essential Job Functions:
- Calendar maintenance, organizing, and scheduling appointments, booking travel accommodations, reimbursement reporting.
- Requisition processing, initiating, transferring, and tracking paperwork within the Colleague system.
- Manage procurement of goods and services as needed.
- Coordinate and manage program budgets with supervision.
- Submit and reconcile P-card expense reports.
- Maintain filing, database, and other record-keeping systems.
- Prepare correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports and maintain confidential information.
- Answer incoming phone calls, take messages, and manage email inquiries.
- Manage inventory of all office supplies and materials.
- Assist with HR paperwork such as timesheets, time and effort reports, leave slips, and new hire paperwork.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department head and Dean.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture or another related field required.
- One year of office work experience preferred.
- Experience in a higher education institution is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Successful candidate must have valid Missouri driver's license.
Physical Demands:
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and work on a computer.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekend work may be required.
- Ability to lift, carry and put away parcels weighing up to 25 lbs.
