Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp., U.S.A seeks a contract Engineer Technician that will work through ASI at our Consumer Product manufacturing facility in Lincoln, NE.

Responsibilities of Engineering Technician can include:

  • Interpret engineering drawings and create shop drawings for the purpose of creating or modifying the design of production tools and fixtures for fabrication by in house or outsourced vendors
  • Create or modify production process documentation
  • Analyze and troubleshoot initial equipment problems. Suggest countermeasures for system failures and implement and verify solutions for quality, safety, productivity and ergonomic issues
  • Collect process data, make mathematical calculations and estimates to report on findings and/or make process adjustments, set up tests, meet quality and production requirements, assist in improvements and establish standard production rates
  • Prepare equipment layouts and drawings to meet project schedules
  • Prepare and install fixtures and tooling for part set up for new or existing processes
Qualifications for Engineering Technician:
  • Two-year associate’s degree in manufacturing technology or similar technical degree; or a combination of similar education and three years’ experience. We will also consider candidates with Two year Associate's Degree in CAD/Drafting or certificate in CAD/Drafting program with relevant fabrication or welding experience
  • Display appropriate proficiency with computers and computer applications including: spreadsheets (e.g. Excel), word processing (e.g. Word), presentation software (e.g.,PowerPoint),databases (e.g. Access, contact management software), internet/intranet (e.g. browsers, search engines), special applications, 3D computer modeling software (Solidworks or Catia)
  • Detail-Oriented – Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
  • Document and Drawing Reading – Ability to interpret and apply symbols and information from prints, work instructions, drawings, schematics and other relevant technical documents
  • Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Manufacturing experience in metal fabrication, and/or machining, and/or welding is preferred
