The Business

Yaysay is backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners and founded by experienced retail industry players from Stitch Fix, Casper and Gilt Groupe.

The Role

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of creating innovative, gamified shopping experiences that keep users coming back for more. You'll work closely with our founders and engineering team to conceptualize, design, and iterate on features that blend the best of gaming and e-commerce. You'll get to develop high-impact features, including animated micro-games and engaging shopping features. You'll collaborate with a small but experienced product, engineering, and animation team that moves and ships fast. Our team runs on a modern stack (Figma, Linear, Slack, etc.) and is fully-remote.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process from concept to launch for new features and improvements
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups
  • Develop a cohesive design system that supports both shopping and gaming elements
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in mobile design, e-commerce, and gamification

Qualifications

The person we're looking for will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on iOS consumer apps
  • Proven track record of designing highly engaging, gamified user experiences that have driven impact for users
  • Experience working in early-stage startups and wearing multiple hats
  • Strong understanding of iOS design principles and guidelines
  • Experience working in modern startup & product design stacks (like Figma and Slack)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Portfolio showcasing your best mobile app designs, preferably including gamified elements
  • Fluency with user experience design principles and interaction design
  • Comfort owning a feature end-to-end, from wireframe to eng-ready product specification
  • Ability to communicate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and executive leadership
  • E-commerce experience is a significant bonus, but not required
