Purpose of Your Job Position

The primary purpose of your job position is toprovide remodeling, maintenance or new construction help for the facilitygrounds and buildings in our portfolio. Maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance withcurrent applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines andregulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed byyour supervisor and strive to keep difficultprojects on schedule and finished efficiently by working together with yourteam(s).

Specific requirements
  • Must be able to speak, and understand the English language
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma driver's license, reliable transportation and willing to drive to Broken Arrow, OK each day for work
  • Must have the willingness and ability to work four (4), ten (10) hour days per week- Monday through Thursday starting at 7am. Occasional overtime may be required depending on the project and job site
  • Musthave basic or general knowledge of the following trade skills: electrical,plumbing, cabinetry, trim carpentry, frame carpentry, mixingand pouring construction material (concrete, sand, grout etc.) , drywall,painting, demolition, tile installation, floor installation, door and windowinstallation, roofing, reading blueprints, and other aspects of remodel or newconstruction
  • Musthave experience and in at least two of the following trade skills: electrical,plumbing, cabinetry, trim carpentry, frame carpentry, mixingand pouring construction material (concrete, sand, grout etc.), masonry,drywall, painting, demolition, tile installation, floor installation, door andwindow installation, roofing, reading blueprints, and other areas of remodel ornew construction. HVAC or refrigeration experience a plus
  • Must be willing to learn new trade skills in which you do not have knowledge or experience
  • Must be knowledgeable of power tools and hand tools
  • In addition to using many of the trade skills, the job willinclude loading and unloading of materials, furniture, tools, and equipment.Removing debris, garbage, and other materials from job sites. Assembling andbreaking down equipment and structures. Assisting other trade contractors, e.g.electricians, plumbers, HVAC companies as required. May have to lift equipment and/or materialsweighing up to 80lbs
  • Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work, team concept
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/inspectors, and sometimes the general public
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of work areas
  • Must be willing to work harmoniously with other construction/maintenance personnel as well as be willing to maneuver and work in a space with residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning
  • Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc
  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
