Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance:

    • Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns.
    • Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
    • Manage tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Tax Planning and Strategy:

    • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
    • Advise senior management on the tax implications of business decisions.
    • Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals.
    • Manage the performance of the tax team, providing guidance and support.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the tax department.
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation of tax provisions for financial statements.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related financial information.
    • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure alignment between tax and financial reporting.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify and mitigate tax risks.
    • Develop and implement internal controls related to tax processes.
    • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of tax practices and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • 8+ years of experience in tax, with a focus on corporate tax in a large organization or public accounting firm.
  • Supervisor experience at least 3+ years in a supervisor role or related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
