Join Our Sales Team at Star - We're Looking for a Passionate and Driven Outside Sales Professional

Do you have a passion for delivering top-notch customer service? Are you a skilled communicator who excels at building and maintaining strong relationships? If so, Star Truss is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to become a key member of our sales team in the role of Outside Sales.

As an Outside Sales professional, you'll be responsible for managing existing accounts while also driving the development of new business opportunities. You'll work closely with our design and production teams, acting as the vital link between builders, customers, sub-contractors, and sales staff. We're looking for a self-starter with exceptional communication and organizational skills, coupled with the ambition to meet and exceed goals.

A Typical Day:

  • Call on existing accounts to build relationships, sell and respond to customer needs.
  • Prospecting and developing new business accounts.
  • Review blueprints and assist truss design team.
  • Visit jobsites to assure contractors have the necessary materials and to provide assistance as needed.
  • Execution of detailed monthly sales and gross profit goals.
  • Maintain high level of customer service through organization of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Active participation in various new home builder organizations.
  • Build effective relationships with team members and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and communicate on the status of customer jobs and accounts through the building process.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of proven sales experience with a focus on business growth.
  • Track record of success in generating new business opportunities.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with diverse customers.
  • Knowledge of the new home construction process and familiarity with building materials.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Flexibility to accommodate occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
Preferred Experience:
  • Background in truss systems or building materials.
  • Ability to effectively manage difficult conversations and resolve conflicts.
  • Experience working within a commission-based sales environment with specific sales and profit goals.
