Summary

Branch Support Technician (BST) will provide on-site support and liaison services to Weisiger Group offices relating to IT Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) activity. This position will also serve as Subject Matter Expert for Audio/Visual equipment installed in conference and training rooms across the company.

Essential Functions

  • Inventory and document the IT systems, infrastructure, and issued user equipment at each Weisiger Group location.
  • Tier 2 escalation for the IT Support Desk, providing hands-on user support including installing or upgrading hardware and software in response to trouble tickets or move/add/change requests.
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance for printers, workstations, network equipment, and data-closets.
  • Observe operating conditions at remote locations as they compare to established IT policies and procedures, reporting back analysis of any variance or opportunity for improvements.
  • Subject Matter Expert for Audio/Visual systems (TVs, projectors, microphones, digital signage, etc) installed in conference and/or training rooms. Specify standardized solutions to meet local needs and coordinate with vendors for installation and support.
  • Be an assigned resource to I&O projects for A/V and end user support tasks. Attend status meetings, coordinate vendor schedules with project objectives, provide on-site coordination, vendor supervision, and direct user support during project activities.
  • Monitoring/Maintaining remote inventory (firmware updates/ configuration changes) and ordering replacements as necessary for spares/accessories
  • Miscellaneous administrative tasks such as generating reports, organizing spreadsheets, or reviewing invoices.
  • Assist with Network/Telecom equipment unboxing, racking, cabling, and/or shipping.
  • Assist users with rudimentary device questions (iPhone setup, connecting accessories, operating desk phone, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • 2+ years experience in IT end user support
  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and written
  • Comfortable engaging with users to answer questions or gather information
  • Team oriented and able to work across other internal departments
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Basic knowledge and use of common hand tools (Hammer, Wrench, Wall Mounting Gear, etc.)
  • Must be physically capable of occasionally climbing a ladder, utilizing a scissor lift, and lifting 35lbs to a height of 6ft high
  • Must be available for travel within the Southeast US region, by both car and air.
  • Position will require 50-60% travel, projects and possible outages may spike for travel demand based on business needs.
