Madison Veterinary Specialists (MVS) is a group of veterinary caregivers providing multi-specialty and 24/7 emergency care in Madison, WI. Our mission is to deliver high-quality specialized and emergency care in a compassionate setting. MVS is an independently-owned and VECCS and AAHA-accredited animal referral center. We are a leading (and rapidly-growing) 24-hour provider of emergency and Specialty services for small animals. We work collaboratively with primary care family veterinarians and have board-certified specialists in various areas including critical care, dialysis, internal medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, oncology, neurology, and surgery.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Veterinary Criticalist at Madison Veterinary Specialists. The Critical Care Veterinarian will be responsible for providing specialized and emergency care for dogs and cats. The role involves diagnosing and treating a wide variety of challenging medical and surgical cases, ranging from canine cataract surgery to orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. The Critical Care Veterinarian will work collaboratively with the in-house services and referring primary care veterinarians.
If you are passionate about veterinary emergency and critical care and participating in team based care, MVS offers 24 hour skilled nursing staff, rotating and ECC internships, as well as student externships. Our core values center around providing amazing patient care and a collaborative, respectful work environment.
Qualifications
- Board certified or board eligible in Critical Care Specialist (residency trained)
- Experience in diagnosing and treating challenging medical and surgical cases
- Knowledge of pet care and emergency medicine
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Experience in a multi specialty veterinary referral center
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
- State licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in Wisconsin
