Overview Provides leadership and oversight for the fiscal management and strategy of operations for the Center of Northern New England Systems Transformation for Primary Care (NNEST-PC) in the Department of Community & Family Medicine (CFM). NNEST-PC seeks solutions to the deep challenge of providing high quality and equitable primary care in a rural setting by establishing an innovative and timely regional collaborative. NNEST-PC is a joint partnership between the Department of Community and Family Medicine at Dartmouth Health and Geisel School of Medicine, and The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, in partnership with other organizations. Responsibilities * KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides oversight and management of NNEST-PC staff, ensuring quality and success of endeavors. Convenes and collaborates with leaders in patient care, research, policy and education at Dartmouth Health, The Dartmouth Institute, Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth College, University of Vermont, Maine Health and other regional and national institutions to advance primary care transformation. Leads efforts to ensure effective team dynamics and teamwork to maximize productivity, ensure staff satisfaction, and minimize staff turnover while maintaining high quality standards. Collaborates with staff and leadership as well as other functional groups, across multiple projects, to ensure timelines and financial goals are being met. Initiates, leads, develops and implements process improvement efforts across coverage area. Development and implementation of process improvements and guidelines (including SOPs) for the coverage area, subject to institutional guidelines. Directs and oversees functions for NNEST-PC subject to established institutional developed processes, striving to promote conduct of safe, compliant, and high-quality. Monitors and analyzes metrics for workload volume, productivity, utilization and other metrics to ensure projects are conducted with optimal efficiency for NNEST-PC. Initiates, leads, develops and implements efforts including training, staff development, process improvements, quality management and other initiatives for NNEST-PC Collaborates with Faculty Leaders, Directors, Managers, and other functional group key representatives. Monitors and manages budget and quality adherence in operations for the NNEST-PC Interviews job candidates and makes hiring decisions for positions across Department. Actively participates in appropriate divisional leadership meetings, department meetings and organizational meetings. Convenes regular advisory committee meetings for NNEST-PC where proposed protocols are presented to the group and divisional decisions are made whether to accept or include a study based on business and scientific evidence. Oversees the NNEST-PC Advisory Council. Seeks grant funding and philanthropy to support the work of NNEST-PC Serves as leadership resource for staff and cross-functional personnel regarding the operational aspects of NNEST-PC Develops website, and communication tools and strategies. Oversees project communications via web sites and written materials for partners, sponsors and governmental agencies. Develops budgets and perform operational assessments of Investigator Initiated protocols for NNEST-PC Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Master’s degree with 5 years of experience in primary care operations and strategy, or the equivalent experience required. Prior experience supervising staff required. Prior policy experience at the regional and national level preferred. Prior research design and implementation experience preferred. Excellent written and oral communications skills, including ability to speak in front of groups required. Ability to interact productively in a wide variety of situations, and command the respect and confidence of board members, faculty, and staff required. Knowledge of computer databases and general computing software is essential.
