Summary/Objective

The individual in this role will be a critical part of the marketing team. This person will assist in the creation of the overarching social media strategy and content creation for the Iowa Wolves.

Essential Functions

  1. Manage strategy for Iowa Wolves social media channels that drives engagement, grows follower base and awareness, and promotes ticket sales.
  2. Lead the social content ideation and copywriting on all social media platforms.
  3. Captures real-time coverage during games, both home and away, and local events.
  4. Work in partnership with the Creative Services position TBD to create high-quality content including photos, graphics, and video.
  5. Actively engage within social media communities with a unique brand voice that best represents the Iowa Wolves. Monitor digital conversation surrounding the Iowa Wolves.
  6. Create and manage a Wolves social media calendar and posting schedule for all team accounts.
  7. Collaborate with sales and partnership marketing departments to fulfill all social requests, ensuring that the social media platforms reflect larger company goals.
  8. Research and execute best practices and emerging offerings across all social media channels.
  9. Generate and analyze digital reporting metrics to evaluate digital success across various platforms.
  10. Collaborate with internal and external parties to support overall marketing strategy.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other:
  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  2. Computer and graphics production skills required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is preferred.
  3. Knowledge of social media platforms.
  4. Familiarity with DSLR Cameras for Photo/Video, Photoshop, and Social Media Reporting.
  5. Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  6. Ability to work well on a team and independently.
  7. Ability to manage specific processes and tasks in the department under supervision.
  8. Ability to operate video and still cameras.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year of Social Media Management. Sports or Entertainment experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. In addition to working office hours staff will work Iowa Wolves games as well as external events including but not limited to: charity and networking events. Work is both sedentary and active in nature. The working environment is generally favorable, and office lighting and temperature are adequate. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate noise levels.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, or crawl while carrying a recording device. The employee may frequently remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the building both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move items weighing up to 30 pounds.

Travel

Position may require some travel.
