SUPERVISOR - MAINTENANCE

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SUPERVISOR - MAINTENANCE

  • Provide Maintenance employees with guidance, direction and supervision in support of departmental operations.
  • Promptly address performance issues. Actively promote all company policies and expectations, especially in support of safety plans and results.
  • Execute planned and scheduled maintenance operations within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by regularly communicating with employees on the shop floor and responding to employee issues and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain well-organized and productive work areas.
  • Work with others to achieve department and company goals and objectives.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE SUPERVISOR - MAINTENANCE

  • High school diploma required. Two-year degree preferred.
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/maintenance environment.
  • Applies management expertise to improve efficiency and accomplish operational objectives within own area of responsibility or department.
  • Has breadth and depth of expertise in a technical or functional area; knowledge of work processes and tools is generally limited to own area of responsibility or department.
  • Sets priorities for employees to meet daily deadlines; develops plans to meet short-term objectives.
  • Works within budgetary/financial objectives set by manager.
  • Practical understanding of industrial/maintenance principles, standards, methods and practices.
  • Knowledge of disciplined problem-solving methods.
  • Knowledge of positive employee relations practices.
  • Interprets customer needs and assesses requirements.
  • Effectively coaches, gives performance feedback and may provide development opportunities for a shift, team or unit.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability; sets high expectations for performance.

  • Manages the calibration and TUS/SAT programs through third parties and onsite resources.
  • Ability to troubleshoot drives, transformers, instrumentation, power/control wiring, AC/DC motors, relays, contactors, etc. using flukes, volt meters, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, etc.
