Primary Area of Focus:

  • QA/QC
  • Basic Design
  • Modeling & Reports

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction, coordination, and QA/QC oversight to EITs, CAD Techs, and Designers.
  • Design simple projects including grading and drainage.
  • Draft complex report documents independently.
  • Perform final review and stamp approval for simple utility and drainage reports.
  • Independently develop complex models.
  • Lead meetings with clients and review agencies, presenting technical information.
  • Monitor compliance with codes, practices, and QA/QC policies.
  • Perform quality control on tasks, budgets, schedules, and plans, reporting project status.
  • Determine project specifications and prepare cross-sections for plan documents.
  • Format base files from external project team members.
  • Conduct design engineering on specific scopes or phases.
  • Perform basic hydraulic and hydrology calculations and prepare specifications.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of timecards.
  • Attend project team and public meetings as needed after hours.
  • Achieve a 75-85% billable utilization rate, balancing non-billable activities such as meetings, professional development, and community involvement.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil, environmental, construction management, or related engineering field.
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Minimum of 4 years of project planning and execution experience for land development projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, exposure to scheduling software ideal.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, and sitting required.
  • Occasional project site visits may be necessary.
  • Normal range of hearing required.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Prolonged sitting with 15% bending and reaching.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Noise levels consistent with a standard office environment.
