*Statistician/Data Scientist*, Austin, TX
*Description:*
Data Scientist/Statistician who will work closely within our client's HW Engineering space, providing direct support to Product Safety & Environmental Technologies engineers. This individual will stand at the critical crossroads of field and test data, and will be instrumental in the analysis of trends and developments for purposes of identifying failure modes and associated effects. These analyses can have direct impacts on product design and operational/manufacturing decisions across the company. Ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic engineering environment where deadlines and dependencies are critical as they relate to regional and worldwide regulations and compliance. This individual must be a natural self-starter who has a proven track record of results and excellence. This role requires in-office, in-person engagement and will report to a senior project manager or engineer, and will have regular interactions with senior engineering leaders.
*Qualifications:*

* Extensive experience in applied Statistics and/or Data Science, ideally within a consumer electronics or
* manufacturing industry
* Weibull analysis and time-in-field forecasting expertise are a must
* Applications to product reliability, safety, and/or quality will be especially relevant

* Experience working with data analysis and visualization tools such as MiniTab, JMP, Tableau
* Self-driven, motivated, and capable independent worker with experience working in cross-functional settings
* Project management acumen and/or experience a big plus, to include schedule management and/or familiarity working within JIRA/Confluence (Atlassian) suite
*Must-Have Skills:*

* Minimum 5-7 years of applied experience in statistical analysis and/or data science in consumer electronics or comparable field
* Experience with forecasting and predictive analysis for field failure, reliability, quality, safety (or combination thereof)
* Track record or, and comfort with, communicating with cross-functional stakeholders and management, and producing data visualizations for their consumption
* Strong MS Excel, Apple Keynote, and statistical analysis tools (e.g. JMP, Posit, Minitab, SPSS, etc.)
* Strong proficiency and attitude for Tableau suite of tools
* Data visualization acumen, and the capacity to communicate nuances and conclusions effectively (written & verbal)
*Nice-to-Have Skills:*

* Experience working in electronics product industry, particularly computers, wearables, and/or smartphones
* Experience with product support and repair services
* Experience with vendor management, and overseas manufacturing (FATPs)
* Advanced foreign language proficiency
* Experience with product regulatory, global compliance, reliability, and/or safety requirements
*Education:*

* Advanced degree in Statistics, Statistical Analysis, Data Science, and/or Mathematics; Engineering or technical degree a plus

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $83.00
