Sr. Electrical Engineer

Provide technical support and advisement to the Midstream business on future equipment design and daily operations. Responsible for applying practical electrical engineering principles and methods in the oil & gas industry to guide infrastructure design and daily operations. This includes applying techniques, best practices and equipment to the design and production of various transportation services involving natural gas and water. Responsible for working with Control Room management on development of SCADA platforms and ensuring proper uptime of the Operational Technology (OT) systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow all of the Safety, Health, and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements, ensuring personal safety, safety
of others, and safety of the work site and surrounding area.
• Directly communicate on a continuous basis with the I&E Supervisor to provide updates on activities, address issues, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain constant communication with all team members, stakeholders and customers to ensure they are receiving proper data of the product, project timelines,
changes to design, etc.
• Maintain updated electrical drawings of all facilities and ensure they are properly backed up such as documented, filed, and assessible in the appropriate location.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and provide guidance for logic in programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HMI graphics platforms, and Historian platform.
• Coordinate and oversee the engineering activities of the development of Midstream SCADA systems.
• Lead development of test programs as necessary to evaluate and validate design, components, and systems. • Effectively use the various tools and applications
available such as ARIES and Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM) for annual testing, data management, evaluation, various reports, etc.
• Conduct research, write reports, and give presentations to management related to system analysis, new or improved techniques or procedures, recommendations for
solution, and help make operations more efficient.
• Advise the Midstream Projects group to provide electrical engineering direction on construction of new assets along with upgrades to existing facilities.
• Monitor and evaluate legacy stations to identify issues, maintenance requirements, and options for improvement resulting in more reliable and efficient systems.
Review electrical systems for upgrades and provide management with advice on electrical systems and solutions.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining electrical engineering best practices, standard operating procedures, design specifications, and other related engineering
related standards.
• Ensure that all SCADA systems have proper backups.
• Work with IT to troubleshoot issues with SCADA system at enterprise level. Oversee and coordinate efforts with IT and contract personnel for SCADA system upgrades.
• Provide guidance and expertise to the technicians to help troubleshoot typical low and medium voltage AC circuits and low voltage DC circuits.
• Evaluate, commission and troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs) and make modifications as necessary to achieve design efficiency.
• Conduct root cause failure analysis for appropriate remedial action to help identify risk and resolve issues related to operations, product quality, and cost.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
• Available for on-call responsibilities related to urgent issues or emergencies during off hours, as needed.
• Conduct work in a professional manner at all times and provide excellent customer service to the Midstream business units, including Midstream Projects and Water i
involving I&E activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, Licensure
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
• At least eight (8) years of Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Systems or equivalent oil & gas related experience.
• Possess valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company's Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.
• Experience working on and troubleshooting pneumatic control devices, burner management systems, SCADA and/or PLC computerized control systems.
• Experience with AutoCad, mechanical desktop or other drawing application software.
Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in WV, PA, or OH.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
• Electrical, instrumentation, electronics, PLC or related certification(s).
Required Core Competencies - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical engineering and understanding of electrical code and safety standards.
• Proficient knowledge of PLC control systems, Rockwell software platforms, and graphical programming software.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and customers.
• Maintain a high level of integrity and discipline with a strong work ethic.
• Proficient knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of gas facilities such as compressor stations, Metering & Reductions facilities.
• Progressive knowledge of Waukesha VHP engines, Caterpillar engines, & Ariel compressors is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. and use/operation of standard office equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and communications skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment focusing on teamwork and unity.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to resolve problems and achieve goals of the organization.
• Basic leadership skills to develop a workforce through recognition, coaching, and evaluation.
• Able to troubleshoot and solve complex electrical engineering issues.
• Able to work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Great time management skills to set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
• Job is performed in the office and in the field overseeing operations.
• Approximately 60% in the office and 40% in the field.

• The employee will minimal lift, push, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc. frequently.
• Regular amount of traversing through challenging terrain to evaluate project sites, conditions, manually inspect slopes or perform work.
Travel Requirements
• Minimal travel may be required to other locations and offices.
• Regular travel to Company's field operations. Approximately 50% of time to field construction, flowback, production and compression sites.
