Job Title: Packaging Associate
Job Description
Packaging Associates will be mainly responsible for the final steps of the production process. As the containers (9lb or 30lb buckets) come down a line in the packaging area, this person will be labeling the bucket with the correct sticker (color and lot number are checked), the bucket is filled with product by the filling machine, the bucket is wrapped, and then packaged by the operator. The role is essentially an end-of-line operator. They will handle the buckets at every step of the packaging process while working with a 2-3 person team, depending on the day.
The job is very simple and, at times, repetitive, but the team tries to rotate priorities each day to keep it fresh.
Other duties might include:
- Returns Processing - when the product isn't used at job sites, it comes back to be processed by the packaging team and re-stocked into inventory for future use.
- General Housekeeping - sweeping the area where dry ingredients are used, organizing the packaging area to prep for future product runs, etc.
A typical day starts with a meeting with the operations team to evaluate what jobs need to be processed. Tasks may include preparing for heavy mixing days or addressing packaging backlogs. Everyone pitches in to get the needed tasks done for the day.

Work Environment
SHIFT: Mon-Fri - up to 8 hours available, but not always mandatory. Tasks are completed as needed to ensure timely order fulfillment.
The facility is a small-scale manufacturing environment with a total of 8 employees (batchers, pickers, packaging associates, lead) in the back. This is their corporate HQ, so the entire team reports here daily unless on the traveling installation team. The facility has four main areas: Batching Room, Packaging Room, Lab, and Warehouse.
- Batching - where raw material chemicals are mixed to make the finished product for customer sites.
- Packaging Area - the only temperature-controlled area, housing two packaging lines operated by the packaging lead and associate. This area contains empty buckets, the filling machine, packaging material, etc.
- Warehouse - with two aisles of racks holding raw material and finished product for batching or shipping to installers.
- Lab - where the leadership team conducts quality testing and small batches, though the packaging associate will spend little to no time here.
The team works together in a family-like environment to complete daily tasks. PPE includes steel toes, safety glasses (provided as needed), and highlighter-colored shirts. One earbud is allowed during work hours. Work pants (dickies type) are expected, but jeans are acceptable for now.
