Director of Accounting
We are partnering with a healthcare company who is looking for a motivated and collaborative Director of Accounting to lead a team of 10+ employees. This individual will oversee the day-to-day operations of our accounting team, including general accounting functions, financial reporting and analysis, internal controls, monthly close operations, audit support, and various special projects under the guidance of the CAO. This individual will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our financial processes, contributing directly to our organizational success and strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the accounting team across multiple business units.
  • Develops, maintains, and enforces accounting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates month-end and year-end close processes, including general ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Manages timely and accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual) under US GAAP for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicates financial results effectively with FP&A and other stakeholders.
  • Identifies and implements improvements in accounting systems and processes.
  • Ensures compliance with internal controls and enhances control procedures.
  • Supports employee development and growth through regular feedback and goal setting.
  • Aligns individual and team objectives with departmental and company goals.
  • Manages information flow and task delegation in a rapidly growing company.
  • Monitors team performance to ensure tasks are completed on time and to standard.
  • Balances workloads and delegates responsibilities effectively.
  • Cultivates a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Assists in potential ERP system implementation.
  • Assigns tasks that promote employee skill development and responsibility.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in public accounting or finance, including management experience.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, consolidation, and tax knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with accounting and financial software systems.
  • Excellent management, time management, and project management skills; builds strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior executives and external customers, conveying complex information clearly.
  • Proven leadership skills, emphasizing team motivation, process enhancement, and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
