Job Description
Helm Technical Services is looking to fill an intermediate level Software Quality Assurance Analyst position within our client's software development team Our client is looking to expand their IT Development staff and need to fill this position ASAP. They are looking for someone who wants to make a long-term commitment to an organization that is the leader in its industry and wants to be a member of a small (~14 person) but very dynamic software development team Our client's plan is to stay at the forefront of technology to better serve its customers. They are the largest company of their kind in the automotive industry. They have mobile apps that run on iOS and Android devices. They have separate client integration sets of "robots" and MS SQLServer databases for nearly every client they have. They integrate via web services with many of their 3rd party vendors using custom-designed vb.net apps. They run a large VMWare platform with 150+ VMs, which continues to grow.
This is a REMOTE position. However, the applicant must reside in one of the following states due to our client's payroll limitations: TX, NV, IN or ID.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Devise and implement test strategies that adequately assess all software aspects
- Investigate and recreate reported defects
- Work with other engineers to troubleshoot and resolve coding issues
- Track and document all testing defects and resolutions
- Participate in the design and development for test automation and support
Qualifications:

Previous experience in software quality assurance, software development, or other related fields

Automated testing experience
-
Experience testing software including but not limited to:
- Professional experience in creating test plans and test matrices
- Bug reporting
- White-box vs.Black-box vs.Gray-box testing
- Exploratory testing
- Writing Test Cases

SQL: experience querying database tables
-
Project documentation
-
Intermediate Excel knowledge
-
Self-motivated and self-starter.
At times no direction will be given so employee will need to take initiative to reach out or work through backlog of tasks without direct supervision. -
Deadline and detail-oriented
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Some MS Outlook knowledge
- Some experience writing User Stories
- Some experience using a SDLC project management tool such as Azure Boards, JIRA, etc.
- UI/UX design concepts
- Quality Assurance (QA) vs Quality Control (QC) concepts
- Some experience writing Test Plans
- SQL: experience writing reports
- Programming experience
