Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Web QA - SDET to lead the testing efforts for our web-based applications. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest quality of our products as we continue to grow. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with extensive experience in both manual and automated testing of web applications, who is excited about the opportunity to earn equity in a fast-growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Strategy Development:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies for our web applications, covering functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure they are thoroughly tested.
  • Automation Development:
  • Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools like Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
  • Integrate automated testing with CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous testing throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Manual Testing:
  • Conduct manual testing for areas not covered by automation, focusing on new features and high-risk areas.
  • Execute exploratory testing to identify potential edge cases and usability issues.
  • Bug Identification and Tracking:
  • Identify, document, and manage defects in tools like JIRA, ensuring clear and detailed communication with the development team.
  • Work closely with developers to understand the root cause of defects and verify fixes.
  • Performance and Security Testing:
  • Perform performance testing to ensure that applications meet performance benchmarks and scalability requirements.
  • Implement security testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the application meets security best practices.
  • Leadership and Mentorship:
  • Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Lead QA team efforts in planning, reviewing, and executing test cases.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance product quality and team efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in software testing to apply best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in web application testing, with a focus on automation.
  • Extensive experience with automation frameworks and tools like Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
  • Strong experience in integrating automated testing with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • In-depth understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and web application architecture.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively in a remote or distributed team environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a startup environment, comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
  • Prior experience in performance and security testing.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and containerization (e.g., AWS, Docker).
