Position Objective:

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in promoting a customer and product-focused sales culture, with values and guiding principles at the forefront of all store operations.

Functional Responsibilities:
  • Performance Culture
    • Analyzes sales reports and KPIs to determine business needs, executing in-store strategies with the Store Manager.
    • Establishes clear expectations, holding the store team and themselves accountable for achieving brand standards.
    • Controls payroll and supply budget.
    • Oversees operational activities such as scheduling, target shrink audits, physical inventory, and merchandise flow processes.
    • Performs all financial activities effectively and accurately, ensuring register transactions comply with policy.
    • Ensures compliance with laws, loss prevention policies, and operating procedures, conducting associate training to reinforce proper controls.
    • Administers operational processes including inventory receipt/dispatch, daily replenishment of floor merchandise levels, and execution of physical inventories.
    • Ensures visual presentation, organization, and facility maintenance represent the Brand.
    • Develops a high-performance culture, motivating the sales team to meet sales and productivity goals.
    • Trains and coaches the selling team on product knowledge and locates fulfillment and selling.
  • Building High-Performing Teams
    • Motivates and inspires the store team, developing a shared vision while modeling core values.
    • Promotes an inclusive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
    • Communicates with store teams and the Store Manager to lead positive change.
    • Seeks personal developmental opportunities and solicits feedback to build leadership skills.
  • Customer Experience
    • Models, teaches, and promotes the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) principles and standards, offering an omni-channel experience.
    • Models sales expectations by utilizing various techniques and communicating product knowledge to customers.
    • Ensures prompt resolution of customer concerns.
    • Ensures a fast and efficient register experience, remaining current on policies regarding payments, coupon acceptance, returns, and exchanges.
    • Ensures the team maintains consistent client communication through customer books, rewards programs, and customer capture sign-up.
