Patient Access Coordinator
Serve You Rx is looking for a Patient Access Coordinator to assist our Clinical Prior Authorization team and support our SAP program. The Patient Access Coordinator works closely with patients and prescribers to facilitate enrollment in Patient Assistance Programs for medications not covered by the plan. This role supports Clinical Prior Authorization Technicians with administrative and project-related tasks, application tracking, and the re-enrollment process.
What You'll Do:
As the Patient Access Coordinator, you will be doing the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- System data entry for new enrollments, new and renewal Prior Authorizations (PA), and specialty patient tracking. This includes working with CAE team to proactively initiate needed PAs.
- Communicate to patients and prescribers about the patient assistance enrollment process, including updates and other necessary follow-ups through to determination.
- Make required system entries upon patient assistance approval.
- Initiate appropriate next steps upon patient assistance denial.
- Follow up with third party sourcing partners to ensure medication fulfillment.
- Enter system overrides at the direction of clinical staff to avoid lapse/delay in therapy.
- Provide status updates of new applicants as requested.
- Maintain associated patient assistance program drug list(s).
- Additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Pharmacy experience is preferred.
- Specialty Pharmacy experience is preferred.
- One year of customer service in-bound call center experience where operational standard processes, technologies, and metrics were used in a related field to include employee benefits and/or pharmacy/prescription drugs, or similar experience.
- Previous computer experience and basic MS Office Professional experience.
- An active and valid Certified Pharmacy Technician license, licensed through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) that is in good standing with no restrictions is preferred.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare policies.
- Basic computer and MS Office Professional knowledge such as Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to switch between multiple screens/software programs quickly and efficiently to resolve member concerns while on the telephone.
- Solid PA Hub and Rx Claim knowledge.
- Advanced customer focus and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, build rapport, respond to callers in a compassionate manner, and provide clear and concise written responses.
- Solid problem solving /decision making. Uses sound judgment and common sense to make competent, timely and effective decisions.
- Solid data entry skills to include detail orientation to produce a high degree of accurate results.
- Read, comprehend, and follow processes and procedures.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
