Position Title: Tax Director
Location: Birmingham, AL
Compensation: $130k-$160k depending on experience + Bonus
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview: The Tax Director will manage all tax-related functions, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing tax strategies, and minimizing liabilities and leading a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and review the preparation of income tax returns ( federal, state, and foreign), including S-corp, C-corp, Trust, etc.
  • Conduct tax planning and research to identify optimal solutions and best practices
  • Assist with the development and implementation of tax strategies
  • Mentor and manage the tax department staff, facilitating their professional development
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA is required
  • Minimum of 8 years in tax, including experience leading and developing a team.
  • Experience in a public accounting is required
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
