Summary:

This position is responsible for driving sales of commercial products to mid-size and large businesses. You will prospect for new clients, manage existing accounts, and oversee projects from start to finish. The role requires daily travel within your assigned territory and strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily sales calls on existing and potential customers in the construction industry (builders, developers, designers, contractors, etc.).
  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and secure new accounts.
  • Manage all aspects of commercial projects, including product selection, quoting, order placement, delivery, installation, and customer service.
  • Partner with internal teams (Inside Sales, Support Center) to ensure seamless customer experience.
  • Prepare proposals and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Maintain awareness of market trends and competitor activity.
  • Participate in industry events and trade shows.
  • Generate reports on sales activity and lead status.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial sales, preferably within the building materials industry.
  • Proven success in outside sales.
  • Strong understanding of the local market.
  • Proficiency in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Experience with RFPs, bid proposals, and construction sales.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to travel daily within the assigned territory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
