Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Job Summary:**
The Licensed Mental Health Therapist will deliver comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnoses, treatment, and crisis intervention services tailored for children and adolescents within the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This position necessitates collaboration with treating physicians, psychiatrists, and a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals to formulate and implement individualized treatment plans for each patient.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
**Clinical Treatment:** The therapist will be responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating clinical treatment plans focused on the diagnosis and management of children and adolescents experiencing acute or chronic mental health conditions.
This will include conducting individual, family, and group psychotherapy sessions, as well as participating in staff conferences to strategically plan and assess treatment programs.
**Patient and Family Counseling:** The therapist will instruct and counsel patients and their families regarding treatment plans, adherence to therapeutic regimens, and prescribed medications. They will also provide psychoeducation to patients and their families to facilitate compliance with treatment. **Collaboration and Supervision:
** The role involves collaborating with physicians to evaluate patients for psychotropic medications within the therapist's scope of practice. Additionally, the therapist may supervise Post-Masters Fellows, Associate Clinical Social Workers, Associate Marriage Family Therapists, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselors, provided the requisite supervision training has been completed.
**Documentation and Compliance:
** The therapist will prepare intake summaries, treatment plans, and case summaries while ensuring the confidentiality of records. Furthermore, they will ensure that treatment and progress documentation adheres to state regulations as well as NCQA standards.
**Program Development:** The therapist will leverage community and agency resources to address the needs of patients and their families. Participation in the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental programs will also be expected.
**Crisis Intervention:** The provision of immediate crisis intervention and safety assessments as required is a critical component of this role. The therapist will report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies in compliance with state regulations.
**Qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications:**
**Education:** A Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
**Licenses/Certifications:
** Candidates must possess either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license, or a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license in California, with a Couples and Families Endorsement to be obtained within 24 months of hire.
A National Provider Identifier (NPI) is required at the time of hire.
**Additional Requirements:
** Candidates must have experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide array of psychiatric conditions.
Familiarity with the DSM-V for diagnosis is essential. The ability to work onsite two days per week is required, along with experience working with children and adolescents.
Candidates must also be eligible to serve Medicare patients.
**Preferred Qualifications:** Several years of licensed experience within an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) setting is preferred. Experience in crisis intervention and group psychotherapy is an advantage.

Must have
- Must hold a valid California license (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC).
- Availability to work onsite at least 2 days a week.
- Experience working with children in a mental health setting.
- Eligibility to see Medicare patients.
