Job Description

The Office of Informatics DIVE team (Data, Integration, Visualization, Evaluation) is seeking a skilled Project Manager to drive growth and maintenance of education and research data warehouses, academic applications, and the informatics components of strategic projects. With multiple strategic combinations drastically increasing the scope of data and services managed by Informatics, this position will help manage initiatives addressing these increases and other changes associated with this rapid growth. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as experience managing technical projects and understanding of data and programming tools, approaches, and Agile development cycles.

This is a hybrid to fully-remote eligible position.

Duties include:

  • Attend project and departmental meetings and contribute to the project design concerning data management needs; including consulting with users on data and resource needs
  • Define project goals and objectives; create and adhere to project timelines and budgets
  • Develop and manage the project communication, resource plans and processes
  • Define roles and responsibilities of the team and determine clear deliverables
  • Meet regularly with project stakeholders and generate regular reports to keep them up to date
  • Monitor day-to-day technical operations related to project goals
  • Create and maintain project and/or departmental webpages and related information
  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of Extract, Transform, & Load (ETL) scripts for moving data between hospital systems and data warehouses
  • Collaborate with faculty, team leads, and coworkers to anticipate, define, and satisfy research data needs
  • When needed, research and evaluate new hardware and software technology and help make decisions on the cost-benefit analysis of new purchases
  • Performs other related duties as needed
Essential Skills
  • Familiarity and experience with Agile or a similar project management methodology
  • Project management skills including project planning, scheduling, scoping, forecasting, tracking, reporting, resource management, time management, and task management
  • Superior oral and written communication skills to guide project teams and coordinate effectively with stakeholders
  • Developed organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Problem-solving, analytical, computer, and technical skills
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Oracle and SQL Server databases, PowerBI dashboards
  • Familiarity with medical data, standards, and terminology a plus
  • Experience working in a cloud environment a plus


Education/Experience

Project Manager III
  • Master's degree preferably with computer science or similar focus and four years' experience in technical project management; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • PMP certification preferred.
Project Manager II
  • Master's degree preferably with computer science or similar focus with two years' relevant administrative and medical experience in research projects or other health-related activities; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One-year experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • PMP certification preferred.
Project Manager I
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as computer science or similar focus with three years of relevant administrative and medical experience in research projects or other health related activities; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supervisory ability.
  • PMP certification preferred.
