This role is part of the GS2PA business unit. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface.

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.

  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction.

  • Conduct formal verification and validation testing and document test results per program requirements.
  • Support the integration of vehicle hardware, ground support equipment, operator consoles and analysis tooling necessary to verify the requirements and performance of units under test within the VTB.
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a manufacturing environment.
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components
  • Support integration and test activities including wiring, hardware installation, and test bench setup
  • Participate in design and system reviews to provide feedback on integration and testability throughout all phases of the project.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate hardware simulation and fault injection solutions with real-time vehicle simulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Leading and supervising others working in teams/shifts
  • Experience integrating and testing vehicle systems
  • Experience developing special electronic test equipment and troubleshooting equipment
  • Proficient in the use of standard electronic lab tests and troubleshooting equipment
  • Preference for and ability to thrive as a member of a small, tightly integrated team
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
  • Perform repetitive work including lifting of heavy items, >50lbs
  • Work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supervising a team of spacecraft technicians
  • 7+ years of proven experience
  • Experience with the development and execution of a large-scale verification of avionics on autonomous spaceflight systems
  • Experience supporting testbeds for spaceflight systems
