Description

The Specialist, Scientific Programs and Memberships, will manage the membership of the Alzheimer's Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment (ISTAART) and lead the implementation of its scientific programming under the direction of the Director, Scientific Programs. The Specialist will also support logistics and agenda planning for in-person, hybrid and virtual scientific meetings. In addition to working closely with internal partner divisions, the Specialist will also act as a key point of contact for external partners, representing the Alzheimer's Association in a positive, professional manner.

Responsibilities

Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Run the day-to-day operations of ISTAART, including customer service, CRM management and reporting, website maintenance, LMS administration, and committee coordination.
  • Lead logistics and delivery of ISTAART's year-round virtual programs, including webinars, podcasts, email campaigns, and in-person programs, including the ISTAART ambassador program, ISTAART student spotlight and workshop programs and pre conference events.
  • Execute membership support needs via cross-functional projects with partners including IT, Marketing, Finance and Conference Services
  • Run all logistics for ISTAART-related events at AAIC, including receptions, member recognition, membership booth, ISTAART workshops
  • Strategize, develop and execute member recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Support logistics and agenda planning for in-person, hybrid and virtual scientific meetings.
  • Provide calendar support when Sr Administrative Assistant is on PTO,
  • will provide onboarding support to new Dir / Sr Dir / VP for the first three
  • months of their role, and will be responsible for industry tracking.

Qualifications

  • Required Education, Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. Master's degree is preferred.
  • 0-5 years' work-related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the Alzheimer's Association in a positive, professional manner to key opinion leaders across a multitude of settings
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel throughout the US by plane and surface transportation, as well as travel internationally as needed. Must possess a valid passport.
  • Experience and clear fluency using virtual platforms and able to quickly adapt to and learn new technology interfaces.
  • Education or experience related to scientific research (preferred)
