Job Summary:
The Observation Unit Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct care to patients and working with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best care possible. They will develop care plans, implement interventions, employ patient teaching to promote safety and good health, evaluate progress towards desired outcomes, and participate in shared decision-making. They will also be responsible for maintaining current knowledge and competence related to nursing practices, integrating evidence and research into practice, and actively participating in unit committees and quality improvement activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops plans of care that include strategies for attaining expected outcomes
- Implements plans of care and medical plans as appropriate
- Coordinates care delivery
- Evaluates progress towards goals
- Practices ethically
- Integrates current knowledge and competence into nursing practice
- Contributes to quality nursing practice and shared decision-making
- Communicates effectively in all areas of practice
- Demonstrates professional leadership
- Collaborates with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals in the conduct of nursing practice
- Utilizes appropriate resources to plan and provide nursing services that are safe, effective, and financially responsible
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Must be licensed as a RN in the State of Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is required
- All new RNs will be placed into the RN Residency Program
- Intermediate computer knowledge, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows)
Work Environment:
This position is located at 350 7th Street North, Naples, FL, 34102. The work schedule is full time with 12 hour night shifts. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is offered to qualified candidates.
