Superior Dairy in Canton, OH is currently seeking an experienced Relief Quality Assurance Analyst. In this role, you'll be responsible for tasks such as aseptic sampling of ingredients, packaging, and finished products. Your duties also include ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, monitoring process settings, conducting product inspections, performing lab tests, and meticulously maintaining records.

This role involves working on a rotating 2nd and 3rd shift schedule, including weekends and holidays.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aseptic sampling of incoming ingredients, packaging, finished products, and various areas/equipment.
  • Sample other types of collections such as well water.
  • Verification of compliance to standard operating procedures and assistance for operations in the enforcement of standard operating procedures
  • Monitoring of process settings, material usage, and product weights
  • Verification of compliance with food safety, customer expectations, product specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Determine of root cause, corrective actions, and follow-up
  • Pre-operational inspection of processing equipment and environment
  • Measuring and recording product temperatures.
  • Calibrating temperature measuring devices.
  • Perform lab tests (e.g., water hardness)
  • Communicating evaluation results with operators and supervisors and follow up.
  • Keeping detailed records and complete documentation in a timely, accurate manner. Recognize the importance of data collected and the interpretation of that data.
  • Execute the Product Hold and Release procedures.
  • End of shift reporting including deviations and corrective actions.
  • Assist in taking and transporting samples to the lab and review of lab test results.
  • Update forms and procedures filing
  • Other assigned duties

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Effective communication with all levels of the organization, as well as customers and regulatory
  • Team oriented, but able to work independently.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and manages time well.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, focused on the task at hand.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Documents, and the use of digital camera Ability to train with new software (QA Studio, 3M LM1 Data Trending Software, Plant/Blow molding SPC)
  • Ability to train, use, and maintain various equipment: FTIR analysis of fat, LM1 for verification of equipment cleanliness, Metal Detector checking and verification, pH Meter, EZ Reader for antibiotic testing, and Thermometers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
