Compensation: $44,000 + Benefits (that currently include):

POSITION SUMMARY

CIRI's Project Rescue serves survivors of human trafficking and unaccompanied minors in the State of Connecticut through comprehensive case management, direct support, advocacy and legal services, as well as educate professionals and the public on identifying and responding to human trafficking. The program relies on effective collaboration with community service networks, along with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners. The Trafficking Victims Assistance Program (TVAP) culturally and linguistically appropriate, comprehensive case management services to adult and minor foreign-born survivors of trafficking. This position will report to the Director of Project Rescue.

Locations: Hartford and New Haven, with occasional travel to other locations within the State of CT.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate case management services to foreign national adult and minor survivors of trafficking.
  • Carry a caseload of up to 25 TVAP cases at a time.
  • Complete individualized needs assessments with qualified participants, and develop case plans with particular attention to culture, language, and special circumstances
  • Maintain a high standard of daily record-keeping of services and case files according to CIRI and funder's policies and procedures.
  • Become familiar with the Trafficking Victim Protection Act (TVPA), the social benefits available to victims and their legal rights.
  • Provide information, education, referrals, outreach and support to ensure that each participant receives the services they require.
  • Build a network of local pro bono resources and services for TVAP participants and track individual progress towards achieving their goals.
  • Assist with planning and facilitation of outreach events and participate in required professional trainings.
  • Travel within the state to carry out case management duties and attend and facilitate meetings for outreach and professional networking purposes.
  • Support the agency by performing any other duties deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services or other relevant fields preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish required, proficiency in other languages required
  • At least two-years' experience in social service provision for survivors of trafficking is desired, background in social work is preferred
  • At least 1 year experience working with vulnerable and/or underserved populations
  • Must possess an extensive knowledge of immigrant community local resources
  • Travel statewide is required
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail to ensure documentation requirements of grantor are met
  • Must be skilled at writing professional, thorough assessment reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with client databases
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule to accommodate occasional after-hours services
  • Must have reliable car, valid U.S. driver's license, valid auto insurance and a clean driving record
  • Must pass a criminal and other background checks
