POSITION: Food Service Coordinator

SUPERVISOR: Child Nutrition Program Director

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt / Part Time (20-25 hours a week)

Position Summary: Under the direction of the School Age Services (SAS) Child Nutrition Program Director, the Food Service Coordinator assists with the nutritional needs of SAS participants by planning, acquiring, delivering and tracking daily snack/meals to program sites. Utilizing both CACFP and SFSP guidelines, the Food Service Coordinator will comply with regulations. Keeping the YMCA mission at heart, the employee must provide excellent customer service, possess working knowledge of SAS goals and policies; and exemplify character that best represents the YMCA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Follow licensing standards of the State of Missouri regarding food handling
  • Maintain updated training and knowledge of CACFP and SFSP requirements
  • Assist with receiving inventory, checking invoices and putting food away properly
  • Organize food room, rotate inventory and pack food orders
  • Develop, evaluate and maintain a system for food distribution
  • Deliver all food and related materials to program sites
  • Always look for cost-effective ways to save time and money
  • Communicate with supervisor and site leads regarding inventory and related needs
  • Maintain food room to ensure proper inventory and cleanliness
  • Develop and follow a scheduled maintenance plan for all food service equipment (i.e., walk-ins, vents, grease traps, etc.)
  • Routinely clean site food cabinets & refrigerators, discarding outdated or spoiled food, tracking freshness dates and usage
  • Track and record temperatures in refrigerators and freezers
  • Participate in staff training
  • Put into operation, accommodations for children with special dietary needs
  • Develop and follow a scheduled maintenance plan for SAS Food Van
  • Keep SAS Food Van clean and orderly
  • Assist with food program monitoring visits as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous Food Service experience preferred
  • Must be able to provide valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and pass a DMV background check
