POSITION TITLE: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN/EMPLOYMENT COACH (HYBRID) III

DEPARTMENT: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

REPORTS TO: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH MANAGER

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Employment Coach / Behavioral Health Technician (Hybrid) combines the responsibilities of supporting clients in both employment-related activities and providing behavioral health services. This role involves ensuring compliance with third-party stakeholders through documentation aligned with client treatment plans, providing job coaching, and offering employment support to clients.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Must be able to perform all functions of BHT I/Employment Coach I & BHT II/Employment Coach II.Standard: Demonstrates expert ability to perform BHT I/Employment Coach I & BHT II/Employment Coach II functions and approved by the Behavioral Health Manager or Director of Human Services.
  • Supports the onboarding and mentoring of BHT I/Employment Coach I & BHT II/Employment Coach II inclusive of creation of training materials.
  • Represent the agency by participating in community events and inform individuals regarding Agency programs and services.
  • Exhibit thorough knowledge of behavioral health and housing contracted services.Standard: 100% compliance of contract responsibility as demonstrated through audit findings.
  • Participates in weekly On-Call list for emergency maintenance calls or behavioral health calls.Standard: all maintenance issues are reported through the maintenance request system.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled clinical supervision meetings and completes all agency mandatory training.Standard: 100% compliance with all mandatory training.
  • Complete annual recertifications for clients' receiving supportive services and ADOH contract recipients.Standard: 100% completion of recertification's by the due date
  • Facilitates initial and annual psychological assessments and treatment plan for submission and approval by licensed professionals.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of stakeholder contracts and deliverables.
    • Ensures the quality and timeliness of progress notes, incident reports, quarterly reports, current updated client files, and all billing reports.
    • Attends and participates in ART meetings and reviews and provides written communication to department management and staff.
      Standard: Participate in 100% of annual reviews. Written updates will be provided at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting. A copy of the written update will be placed in the member's file.
  • Provides oversight of daily vehicle logs.Standard: 100% compliance with all respective deliverables.
  • Assists other Agency departments with safety, health, and security inspection and follow-up action items where necessary.Standard: Maintains 100% compliance with all respective deliverables.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Behavioral Health Manager or Director of Human Services.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
  1. SupervisionThis position has no supervisory responsibility.
  2. ConfidentialityThis position is exposed to highly confidential client information including behavioral health and physical health diagnosis and disability information, demographic information and client financial status.
  3. Mental Application and ResponsibilityAbility to prioritize and organize workload, handle numerous tasks simultaneously, and work under pressure. Must interact with discretion and professionalism regarding confidential client information.
  4. Internal and Public ContactsHigh degree of interaction with staff, clients, family members, and other social service agency staff in the community.
  5. Conditions and EquipmentThe work environment includes client home visits, clinical, office settings, and community settings for behavioral health and job coaching activities. Must remain awake and alert throughout each work shift.
  6. Physical DemandsThe work environment includes home and office settings. Must be able to walk up and down stairs and lift up to 25 pounds. Complete training for safety and crisis intervention.
ABILITIES
  1. Language (Communication)Must communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing; possess excellent organizational and time management skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  2. MathematicalBasic mathematics is required.
  3. ReasoningPosition requires basic understanding of working with people who have unique disabilities, basic understanding of crisis prevention and intervention and to assist in a recovery model or plan. Basic understanding of First Aid and CPR.
  4. OtherBasic understanding of Arizona State Housing Rules, Fair Housing and Landlord Tenant Act Laws, HUD eligibility guidelines, and Housing Contracts. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and comply with Fair Housing laws.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. EducationBachelor's Degree in a related field
    OR
    Seven (7) to ten (10) years case management experience in lieu of education.
  2. ExperienceRequires five (5) to ten (10) years of case management.
    Or
    At least one (1) year experience working with individuals with disabilities or in social services preferred
  3. OtherMust be over 21 years of age.
    Must possess a valid driver's license.
    Must obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
    Must obtain valid certifications for Agency compliance within 90 days of employment.
    Pass background check inclusive of Excluded Provider List System (EPLS) and the Health and Human Services (HHS) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

OSHA

Everyone has the right to a safe workplace. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 was passed to prevent workers from being seriously harmed at work or killed at work, and the law requires employers to provide their employees with working conditions that are free of known dangers.
