Senior Storage Engineer

The National Security Sector of a leading defense company is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer to join their team in supporting the G2 Army MI Enterprise. The engineer will serve as the primary technical point of contact for the operation and on-site support of the enterprise storage infrastructure. This role requires an active DoD Top Secret SCI (TS SCI) clearance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and support a mixed storage environment comprising NetApp FAS2552 or equivalent equipment and Dell EqualLogic PS6100s or equivalent.
  • Design and develop secure storage, and systems administration practices that meet customer requirements.
  • Provide expertise in selecting correct technologies, designing architectures, and integrating hardware and software solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 data storage support and troubleshooting.
  • Operate, maintain, and administer computer networks and related computing environment.
  • Perform data backups and implement security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Interface with customers, technical staff, and management to identify issues and provide strong customer service.
  • Track and support periodic hardware and software upgrades.
  • Participate in special projects and day-to-day operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with 10+ years of experience, a Bachelor's degree with 11+ years' experience, or a High School Diploma with 12+ years of experience.
  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Active DoD IAT Level II certification: Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC, etc.
  • Active Microsoft Certified Professional certification or higher or NetApp (NCDA) certified.
  • 5+ years of specific experience with NetApp NAS/SAN storage environments.
  • Experience with Windows Server and Virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware).
  • Understanding of ticketing systems and reporting metrics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • System architecture experience.
  • Experience with scripting languages.
  • Agile development mindset and ability to introduce new methods/technologies.
  • Consistently high attention to detail and ability to comprehend complex technical topics.
  • Experience with Lights Out Management principles and concepts.
