Position Summary

The Director, Enterprise Digital Growth is responsible for orchestrating and enhancing the digital capabilities that drive our portfolio companies' growth. In partnership with program and product owners, this role emphasizes the integration of continuous feedback loops as a foundational aspect, ensuring alignment, innovation, and tailored application to enterprise companies. This role goes beyond traditional IT, focusing on the development of technologies and practices that fuel innovation in areas like data science, computational biology, and engineering functions. Digital growth is a multifaceted concept involving the seamless integration of modern technologies with our scientific goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Digital Growth Planning: Design and lead the digital growth strategy, aligning technological advancements with business needs, especially in early-stage data science, bioinformatics, and computational biology functions. Specifically working with the FSP NewCo to GrowthCo transition team on establishing and revising the Digital specific playbooks.
  2. Technology & Tool Integration: Oversee the introduction and scaling of specific software products and technologies that support R&D-focused biotech companies, like AWS Storage Gateway, Laboratory Data Transfer, Data Management, Benchling ELN, LIMS systems, etc.
  3. Collaboration & Alignment with Science: Foster strong collaboration between technology, scientific, and business teams to ensure digital initiatives are rooted in Flagship's scientific mission.
  4. Data-Driven Innovation: Facilitate the development and deployment of data analytics and bioinformatics tools to enhance research and decision-making capabilities.
  5. Digital Laboratory Support: Support digital transformation within laboratory environments, enabling seamless data management, analytical processing, and operational efficiency.
  6. Vendor & Partner Management: Coordinate with technology vendors and external partners to ensure that they align with our digital growth vision and comply with industry standards.
  7. Innovation & Emerging Technology Adoption: Stay ahead of emerging digital trends and technologies within life sciences, ensuring continuous innovation and learning.
  8. Compliance & Security in the Digital Landscape: Ensure that all digital growth initiatives adhere to regulatory compliance, risk management, privacy, and security standards.
  9. Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate across roles and departments to ensure integrated digital growth strategies, working closely with other Directors, Associate Directors, and program/product owners.
  10. Budget & Financial Management: Oversee budget planning and financial management in alignment with digital growth strategies.
  11. Communication & Marketing of Programs and Products: Lead the communication and marketing of digital growth programs and products, ensuring clarity, alignment, and effective utilization.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of 10 years' experience in digital technology or growth management, with at least 5 years in the Biotech or Pharma sector.
  2. Proven expertise in driving digital growth, scaling technologies, and managing complex digital projects within the life sciences industry.
  3. Extensive experience in bioinformatics tools, data management practices, and laboratory IT solutions relevant to Biotech research and development.
  4. Strong understanding of emerging technologies and their application in a scientific research environment.
  5. Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration skills.
  6. A degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field is highly desirable.
